Academic Year 2

Fall & Spring

  • RUSS 3011 in Fall and RUSS 3012 in Spring: Intensive Year Russian (Level 3)
  • 2 hours of tutoring per week; assessments

Summer

  • Russian Study Abroad at the Flagship Overseas Center in Almaty, Kazakhstan or other study abroad options such as the UGA IRLCCB program in Latvia

Academic Year 3

Fall & Spring

  • RUSS 3911 and 3912 Tutorial in Professional Russian (Fall and Spring)
  • Additional Russian Across the Curriculum Courses, as advised
  • 2 hours of tutoring per week; assessments

Summer

  • Russian Study Abroad if not completed in Year 2

Final Academic Year: Capstone Year Abroad

Fall & Spring

  • The Russian Overseas Flagship (ROF) Capstone Program at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan administered by American Councils for International Education, includes intensive coursework, individual tutoring, direct enrollment in a course at KazNU (fall), a professional internship (spring), and a homestay with a Russian-speaking family.

Summer

  • Post-Capstone Orientation by ACTR

*   Students must reach advanced proficiency in Russian in order to qualify for the ROF Capstone Program. Students who require further Russian instruction to reach Advanced or need to satisfy additional requirements for their major on campus may postpone their Capstone Year Abroad until the 5th year at UGA.
