1. Apply for Admission to the University of Georgia

Acceptance to the UGA Russian Flagship Program is contingent on admission to the University of Georgia. Students must apply separately for admission to the University of Georgia through UGA Admissions. Students who have been admitted to the University of Georgia may move forward with applying to the UGA Russian Flagship Program.

2. Apply to the UGA Russian Flagship Program

Complete the fillable PDF Application (PDF), save it as a PDF, and submit it to [email protected]. You may apply to the program as soon as you are accepted to the University of Georgia. Applications are accepted year-round, but early applications are encouraged.

3. Enroll in a Russian language class at UGA

Students with no background in Russian should register for RUSS 1011 – Intensive Elementary Russian I (offered every fall). Register as soon as you are able, to secure your spot!

Students who have studied Russian previously or speak Russian at home should reach out to [email protected] to schedule a placement exam and to discuss their options.

Students entering UGA or desiring to enroll in the UGA Russian Flagship Program in the spring or summer should reach out to [email protected] to discuss their options.

First-year Russian is only available at UGA during the fall semester. A summer start may be possible for students willing to participate in an intensive summer language program at another U.S. institution.
